KAZINFORM German Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will pay his first official visit to Astana on August 29, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Altay Abibullayev told a briefing on Monday. Westerwelle will take part in the international conference "From the nuclear test ban to a world free of nuclear weapons." The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany is important, and is considered in the spirit of implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level during the February visit to Germany by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Minister Guido Westerwelle will meet with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov and Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev to discuss issues of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, as well as the current state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral Kazakh-German cooperation. The foreign ministers of Germany and Kazakhstan will discuss a wide range of issues, in particular, the situation around the Iranian nuclear program in the context of Germany's participation in the negotiating group "5 +1", and the crisis in Syria. |
