KARAGANDA. July 9. KAZINFORM One person was killed and six others were injured in a shooting during a wedding ceremony in a café in Balkhash town of Karaganda region at around 4:00 a.m. July 9, according to the press service of the regional internal affairs department.

The unknown persons fired several shotgun rounds at the wedding guests, who were sitting in the outdoor area of the cafe.

The victims are Balkhash residents aged 17 to 21 years. Three of them are university students, two are unemployed, one works as a security guard. Among the victims was the assistant district inspector of Balkhash internal affairs department, who died on the way to the hospital.

A criminal case has been opened. Investigation is underway.
