ASTANA. February 10. KAZINORM Kazakh Ambassador Berik Aryn has met with Dr Mostafa Amine, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt, in Cairo. The Kazakh MFA's press service reported.

At the meeting they discussed restoration of the Sultan al-Zahir Baybars mosque in Cairo, which is financed by the governments of Kazakhstan and Egypt jointly, and exchanged opinions on ways of further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.

At the meeting the Kazakh diplomat familiarized representatives of the Supreme Council of Antiquities with Kazakhstan's achievements in the socio-economic sphere, main provisions of the President's State-of-the-Nation Address as of January 27, 2012, told about a number of foreign initiatives of the country.

As is known, the Kazakh side allocated USD 4.5 million for the mosque restoration.
