KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Secretary of the Kazakh Majilis Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Viktor Rogalev has had a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania to Kazakhstan Rokas Bernotas today. The press service of the Majilis informs. V. Rogalev congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success at work in our country. The sides noted that the relations between the two countries were developing very well. A new impetus of bilateral cooperation is going to become the presidency of Lithuania in the OSCE in 2011. 'We cooperated very well while Kazakhstan's presidency in the OSCE. The OSCE Summit in Astana outlined the principles of further work in this sphere. It is continuity in the sphere of tolerance, nondiscrimination and work that was started by Kazakhstan,' the Ambassador noted. The Ambassador also noted that Lithuanian side supported the state program of Kazakhstan 'Road to Europe' which was developed on the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. 'Using the potential of the Kazakh-Lithuanian cooperation helps in building strong relations between Kazakhstan and Lithuania. It is important for both countries in their intentions to strengthen the positions in the international political and economic processes,' V. Rogalev emphasized.
